Hateshinai Monogatari Purified Edition

CHAPTER 1: THE BOY

I opened my eyes and my vision is blurred. I heard a sound and I looked to my right and saw something I cannot describe so simply.

Suddenly, a hand touched my shoulder. I turned around and my face paled. It was something that was of evil and of death. A cross between the Grimm Reaper and the Devil.

It seemed to flap its dark devilish wings but all of a sudden, the image changed.

Again.

Again.

And again.

It kept on changing and the air itself imitated the changes.

"What's going on?" asked the boy.

"Nothing much," came a voice.

At first it seemed like a large computer-like face with an X-shaped scar on its right cheek but then, it changed again.

Into, a cute little girl that held a Scythe adorned in a white gown.

Behind her were five zombies in five different colours.

The Zombie Rangers.

What could be seen behind them were hordes of lesser zombies and succubi. The only possible weapon around was a broomstick and it was the fifth floor with the only escape route being a suicidal jump through a window broken by some guy who got bitten and was currently dead.

Scared and alone with my only option being jumping through the window, I ran past the zombies using the broomstick to brush them aside.

I let out a piercing scream as I jumped.

Everything went black for a while.

I came to some time later and to my surprise I found my right leg and ribs to be broken. That was due to the plunge I took.

Suddenly, the girl with scythe dashed towards me and my broomstick seemed to have been swallowed by one of the Zombie Rangers. I ran as fast as I could despite my wounds and hid inside an old storage room and quickly bolted the door. There seemed to be a staircase leading downstairs.

I climbed down and saw the girl with the scythe laughing hysterically. I was frozen in fear as she swung the scythe around before raising it high to slice me.

Luckily enough, it seemed she had sliced her head off while she was showing off and after a while, I started to laugh.

I kept on laughing even after I walked by her decapitated body until I realized that was just another show of power. Smiling, her head quickly reattached itself to her body.

I started to run away.

As I ran, I heard a voice.

A soothing, gentle, harmonious voice.

Panting, I relaxed for a moment and thought that, maybe, just maybe, a cute girl was singing just for me.

I turned to face the owner of the voice and was shocked to find bear.

A bear that had a nametag inscribed on it the name, Lolibear.

I decided to approach it.

To my surprise it began to talk. It seemed to believe that it was human. Nevertheless, I asked it to join me on my quest. It then revealed to me a hidden path way just next to a shelf in the passageway.

Next to the shelf were a wooden baseball bat and an axe. I picked them up and offered one of them to Lolibear.

It said no and brandished a katana from its back.

Without warning, it turn-kicked me in the stomach and threw katana where I was just before the kick and into the zombie that nearly bit me.

Lolibear then flashed a fanged cheesy smile and gave me something that seemed to be a thumbs up despite its lack of thumbs and said, "Unlike OTHER Lolibears, I AM THE REAL DEAL."
